Fidelity Investments Inc. is seeking a recent college graduate to join the Defined Benefit pension calculations team. You will learn pension concepts, work with numbers in Excel, and help ensure accurate benefit processing for clients.

Expect structured training and mentorship as you build expertise within a knowledgeable team. You will support client service groups, maintain data integrity, and participate in system testing and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent; majors such as Mathematics, Finance, Business, and Accounting preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to accuracy.
  • Motivation, initiative, and a professional work ethic; reliable and precise.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain data confidentiality for client information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; willingness to coach others when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Process various types of calculations and interpret DB plan rules to ensure compliance.
  • Support Client Service teams and develop subject matter expertise for assigned clients.
  • Manually calculate and review pension benefits for plan participants.
  • Support monthly testing of system upgrades and releases.
  • Participate in special departmental projects and document updates to procedures.

Job Description:

The Role

Are you a recent college graduate who enjoys problem solving, working with numbers, and learning how financial systems impact real people? If you’re comfortable with Microsoft Excel and have strong math skills, this role could be a great first step in your career.

In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for the accurate and timely processing of various types of financial calculations to support our Defined Benefit clients. A Defined Benefit (DB) plan, also known as a pension plan, is a retirement plan where an employer promises to pay their employees a set amount after retirement.

You’ll receive structured training on pension concepts, systems, and calculations, with support from experienced team members as you build confidence in the role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing various types of calculations, meeting timeliness and accuracy standards while interpreting DB plan rules to ensure compliance with the plan document.
  • Supporting internal Client Service teams while developing subject matter expertise on assigned clients
  • Manually calculate and review pension benefits for plan participants
  • Supporting monthly testing of various systems upgrades and releases
  • Participate in special departmental projects
  • Document updates to User Procedure Documentation

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
