GEICO Cyber is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Penetration Tester to join our Offensive Security team. In this role, you will conduct advanced security assessments and penetration tests to evaluate and enhance our security posture. You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, testing security controls, and providing actionable recommendations to improve our defenses.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct penetration testing on networks, applications, cloud environments, and infrastructure.
Perform vulnerability assessments and exploit security weaknesses in a controlled manner.
Utilize offensive security tools and techniques to test security controls.
Develop and customize exploitation scripts, tools, and techniques to simulate real-world attack scenarios.
Provide detailed technical reports and remediation guidance to stakeholders.
Research and stay updated on the latest threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methodologies.
Conduct social engineering assessments, including phishing and potentially physical security evaluations.
Assist in red teaming automation, leveraging scripting and frameworks to improve efficiency.
Work closely with security and development teams to remediate vulnerabilities effectively.
Mentor junior team members and provide training on offensive security methodologies.
Collaborate frequently within the offensive security team as well as with other security professionals on projects and assessments.
Candidate Qualifications & Skills:
5+ years of experience in penetration testing or offensive security.
Strong understanding of attack frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
Hands-on experience with exploitation tools (e.g., Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, Empire, BloodHound, Mimikatz).
Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar).
Familiarity with Active Directory exploitation, cloud security testing (AWS, Azure, GCP), and container security.
Knowledge of defensive security controls (SIEMs, EDR, IDS/IPS) and how to evade them.
Strong understanding of network security, web application security (OWASP Top 10, OWASP API Top 10), and cloud security.
Ability to write clear and succinct technical reports.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think like an adversary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as OSCP, OSCE, OSEP, GPEN, CISSP, CEH, or similar.
Experience in threat modeling and adversary emulation.
Background in reverse engineering or malware analysis is a plus.
Familiarity with cloud-native security tools and purple teaming frameworks.
Annual Salary
$85,000.00 - $260,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
