Job summary

Verizon Cyber Security (VCS) is seeking an Application Penetration Tester to join our Enterprise Pen Test team. You will act like the enemy to secure web, mobile, and API applications by performing deep-dive testing and translating technical findings for internal customers.

You will lead testing across complex systems, mentor juniors, and help shape the AI-enabled pen testing strategy while collaborating with management to strengthen Verizon's security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience in application/network penetration testing or security.
• Six or more years of penetration testing experience.
• Experience with AI toolkits and AI LLMs beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux/Mac/Windows and scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform full-scope penetration testing on complex, high‑risk web apps, infrastructure, APIs and mobile apps.
• Analyze complex issues and craft plans to address variables with limited standards.
• Develop creative resolutions and provide risk-based remediation recommendations.
• Create comprehensive reports and present findings to technical and executive audiences.
• Mentor junior pen testers and guide offensive security strategy including AI integration.
