Job summary

HCLTech in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Senior Pega Software Engineer to design, build and maintain a scalable set of Pega-based products and applications. You will work with product, technology and business teams in an agile environment to drive efficient processes and improved user experiences.

Requirements include 10+ years on Pega, Azure deployment experience, and PEGA Senior Systems Architect certification (Lead SSA a plus).

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Computer Science or equivalent technical education and experience.

Job description

As a Senior Pega Software Engineer, you will help build highly critical business processes. Along with writing effective code, the position will be responsible for designing, building, delivering, and maintaining a highly scalable set of products and applications. The incumbent will use industry best practices and work collaboratively with our business, product, and technology teams in an agile development environment to drive how technology enables more efficient business processes and simplified user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Performs as a key contributor to an engineering team that builds and supports exceptional products that provide innovative solutions to challenging business use cases, existing systems, and operational problems.
• Collaborates closely with Engineering leadership, Product Managers, Designers, Test Automation, and other teams and business units to define, prioritize, sequence, and scope business and functional requirements and drive results.
• Participates in architectural design, system analysis, and programming activities on application software; this may often require independent research and study.
• Develops high-quality and production-ready software by using best-practice that are maintainable, scalable, responsive, and secure with an end-to-end mindset from conception to delivery and production support, owning specifications, quality, release deployments, and monitoring of production health.
• Produces complete, simple, and readable technical documentation for everything developed and maintains a team culture of documenting everything.
• Tests and ensures the quality of all code that is developed in line with principles of test-driven development and continuous delivery, utilizing test automation frameworks wherever possible.
• Participates in code reviews and follows industry best practices.
• Maintains knowledge, and ensures competency and compliance with policies and procedures, to be the technical expert while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Experience with developing and deploying Pega applications on Azure or similar cloud platform
• Must be a certified PEGA Senior Systems Architect. Lead System Architect is a BIG plus.
• Must be strong in Pega platform Case Management, Data Management & Integration, Decision Management, User Experience, Background Processing, Security & Systems Administration.
• Ability to understand business plans and apply that information to the development of an IT business case.
• Anticipates problems, resistance, or likely objections and takes action to resolve them
• Ability to, guide, train, and mentor associate engineers
• Proficient in organizational processes as well as capable of assessing and initiating a change in such processes.
• Experience integrating legacy systems with the Pega Platform
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis in the Pega ecosystem to quickly address and fix system issues
• Ability to integrate with external systems of record with the Pega Platform
• Ability to understand an existing business process and collaboratively develop a more efficient and automated workflow
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies
• Ability to develop and maintain key vendor relationships with a focus on technology currency and best practices
