Job summary

The Senior Population Health Insight Specialist at The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia will lead data-driven analyses to predict trends in pediatric population health. This role integrates EHR, claims, and external data to inform value-based care interventions and care management activities, building dashboards and mentoring analysts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required.
• 4 years relevant experience in pediatric population health analytics.
• Experience with cost and utilization analysis of claims data.
• Experience with EHR data types and large EHR databases.
• Knowledge of risk adjustment and quality reporting (HEDIS, STAR, ACO measures).
• Ability to translate detailed data into understandable conclusions and actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with data engineering and IT teams to integrate and maintain population health data sources (EHR, claims, and external data).
• Ensures data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across systems.
• Translates complex data into clear insights, dashboards, and visualizations for executive decisions.
• Conducts cost, utilization, quality, and outcomes analyses to support value-based contracts and reimbursement initiatives.
• Develops predictive models and risk stratification to support care management workflows.
• Serves as subject matter expert for population health analytics across clinical quality, finance, and informatics.
• Supports design, evaluation, and optimization of programs focused on chronic disease management and health equity.
• Analyzes care management workflows for quality and process improvements.
• Mentors junior analysts and shares analytic best practices.
