Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a doctoral-level Pediatric Psychologist to join the 03460 GCMG Pediatric Psychology: 1001 Blythe - Pediatrics: Psychiatry team. The role focuses on neuropsychological evaluation, psychotherapy, and rehabilitation within a multidisciplinary environment.

The successful candidate will provide clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, supervise staff, and collaborate with physicians, educators, and community partners to support patient care and family

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology with internship and postdoctoral fellowship including neuropsychology training, and active license to practice.
• License to practice psychology required by state.
• Doctoral training in medical/rehabilitation psychology with neuropsychology focus preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as liaison to medical education and research departments to align service, teaching and research initiatives.
• Performs neuropsychological evaluations focusing on organic brain function and related factors.
• Coordinates with Psychometrists for test administration and scoring and ensures accuracy.
• Provides psychotherapy, counseling, education, cognitive retraining, behavior management, and crisis intervention as needed.
• Develops and documents treatment plans with patient and family participation.
• Trains staff on observation methods and behavior management in neuropsychological care.
• Provides diagnostic advice and management recommendations based on granted privileges.
• Educates patients, families, teams and external professionals about neuropsychology and rehabilitation.
