Job summary

Norton Healthcare is seeking a Sr Cardiovascular Perfusionist to oversee circulation technology and ensure high‑quality patient care across all ages. The role includes cardiopulmonary bypass, ventricular support and organ preservation, along with managing anticoagulation and physiologic monitoring during complex procedures.

The candidate should have at least one year of perfusionist experience, a bachelor’s degree, and must obtain certification as a Clinical Perfusionist within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation, maintenance and application of circulation technology.
• Provides age-appropriate care to patients of all ages, including cardiopulmonary bypass and related procedures.
• Manages anticoagulation, hematologic monitoring/analysis, blood gas and chemistry monitoring.
• Performs organ preservation, surgical assisting and administration of medications via extracorporeal circuit.

Job description

Responsibilities

The Sr Cardiovascular Perfusionist oversees the operation, maintenance and application of circulation technology applications, providing age-appropriate care to patients of all ages. This includes, but is not limited to, cardiopulmonary bypass, autologous blood recovery/blood conservation, ventricular support, left heart conterpulsation, myocardial preservation, anticoagulation and hematologic monitoring/analysis, physiologic monitoring/analysis, blood gas and chemistry monitoring/analysis, induction of hypothermia/hyperthermia with reversal, hemodilution, hemofiltration, organ preservation, surgical assisting, as well as administration of medications, blood components, and anesthetic agents via the extracorporeal circuit and any other duties as assigned.

Required

• One year of experience as a Cardiovascular Perfusionist
• Bachelor Degree
• Certified Clinical Perfusionist within one year

• Three years of experience as a Cardiovascular Perfusionist
• Bachelor Degree
• Certificate of completion from CAAHEP accredited program in circulation technology
