Job summary

Castelion is seeking a seasoned PCB Layout Engineer to own the layout and release of complex avionics PCBs for hypersonic missile systems, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and systems teams to meet aggressive schedules.

Applicants should demonstrate strong judgment across analog, digital, RF, and power domains, lead fabrication partners through DFM and production readiness, and contribute to design standards.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of PCB layout and electronics hardware development experience.
• Proficiency with Altium or equivalent PCB layout tools.
• Experience with ECAD-MCAD coordination using NX or SolidWorks.
• Design for IPC Class 3/3A and high-density PCBs (10–20+ layers).
• Strong SI/PI and EMI/EMC considerations.

Responsibilities

• Own PCB layout from placement through fabrication and release.
• Translate schematic to manufacturable PCB layouts.
• Lead DFM/DFA reviews with vendors and resolve issues.
• Create fabrication packages (Gerber/ODB++, BOMs, drawings).
• Interface with board houses on materials and impedance targets.
• Support SI, PI, EMI trade studies during layout.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, systems, and software teams.
• Mentor junior designers and review layouts.
