Job summary

Cypress HCM seeks a Failure Analysis Engineer III to investigate PCB failures, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions across manufacturing and field returns. This role collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and analysis technicians to improve product reliability and manufacturing performance.

Responsibilities include analyzing failure modes, implementing corrective actions, presenting findings to Manufacturing Engineering and updating MES, and supporting field-return

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of PCB failure analysis experience
• Experience with PCB test methods (In-Circuit, Functional, Embedded, System-Level)
• Strong understanding of SMT and Quality Assurance in manufacturing
• Experience with failure/root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Experience with Pareto analysis, yield reporting, and defect tracking
• Familiarity with troubleshooting equipment, procedures, and methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze top PCB failure modes across product lines and identify root causes
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to implement corrective actions
• Provide failure analysis findings to Manufacturing Engineering and update the MES
• Support troubleshooting and analysis of field-returned products
• Develop Pareto charts, yield reports, and other tools to identify quality trends
• Develop analysis tools and troubleshooting procedures for new products
• Create fault tree analysis flowcharts and troubleshooting guides
• Support training and development of analysis technicians
