Job summary

Thales in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior PCB Designer to develop and release PCB/PCBA designs and documentation through design reviews, testing, and mass production. You will apply CAD, CAM, CAE tools to create manufacturable PCBs while collaborating with global teams and suppliers.

The role requires 5+ years of PCB layout experience, AS degree in Electrical Engineering, and proficiency in Allegro, OrCAD, Valor, AutoCAD, and Teamcenter, with strong communication across disciplines.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years PCB layout and routing for high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with HDI, double-sided, multilayer, flex and rigid-flex PCBs.
• Proficiency with PCB tools: Allegro, OrCAD, Valor (DFM), AutoCAD (2D).
• AutoCAD for fabrication/assembly drawings; IPC/ASME standards knowledge.
• Experience with PDM/configuration tools such as Teamcenter; MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate PCB CAD layout designs and data per requirements.
• Review PCB layouts for accuracy, specs, and manufacturability.
• Conduct design reviews with engineering and manufacturing partners.
• Plan and execute PCB design activities aligned to schedules.
• Participate in failure evaluations and root-cause analyses.
• Release and maintain BOMs and drawings in Teamcenter with QA compliance.
