Job summary

Apptronik is seeking a Senior ECAD Designer to own PCB schematic capture and layout in Altium Designer, with emphasis on power electronics and high-speed digital design. You will take boards from architecture through layout, ensuring manufacturability and reliability for production.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready designs on schedule, mentoring junior designers and driving layout best practices in a fast-growing robotics

Qualifications

• Expert-level Altium Designer skills for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience designing power electronics with DC/DC converters and high-current traces.
• Proven ability to route high-speed digital interfaces with controlled impedance.

Responsibilities

• Lead schematic capture and PCB layout for mixed-signal, power, and high-speed boards.
• Define stack-up, layer count, and materials to meet electrical and thermal targets.
• Design power delivery networks and ensure power integrity in layouts.
• Implement impedance-controlled routing, differential pairs, and length matching for GHz interfaces.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Prepare manufacturing outputs: Gerbers, drill files, BOMs, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
• Mentor junior designers on layout best practices and documentation standards.
