Job summary

EControls is seeking an experienced PCB Designer to join our R&D team. You will develop high-quality PCBs for engine controllers, fuel systems, BMS, and telematics, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and vendor partners to meet electrical, thermal, packaging, and regulatory requirements.

Key duties include producing Gerber data, creating footprints, maintaining libraries, and driving design quality through reviews and production-ready docs.

Qualifications

• BS in an engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of PCB design experience.
• Expert in PCB layout techniques (EMC, thermal, small signal integrity).
• Proficient with Altium tool suite.
• Experience creating 10+ layer PCB designs.
• Familiar with UL, CSA, IEC standards.

Responsibilities

• Design printed circuit boards for new products such as engine controllers, fuel systems, BMS and chargers, and IoT telematics systems.
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail to produce defect-free PCB designs within timelines.
• Generate Gerber data and all necessary fabrication files.
• Create PCB footprints from datasheets and maintain component library.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to optimize costs.
• Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to optimize packaging, thermal, and electrical performance.
• Interpret IEC, CSA, and UL standards and apply in designs.
