Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a senior PBF manufacturing engineer to own build preparation, print programming strategy, and manufacturing planning for additive manufacturing hardware. You will drive cross-functional technical decisions and contribute to qualification across Terran R program.

You will mentor engineers, shape process standards, and partner with design, quality, and operations to ensure robust part production and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Aerospace/ Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in metal additive manufacturing, preferably aerospace.
• Deep knowledge of laser powder bed fusion controls and qualification logic.
• Experience owning AM products through lifecycle and post-processing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical owner for PBF hardware families and process-control systems.
• Own build preparation, print programming strategy, and manufacturing planning.
• Provide design feedback on printability and DfAM improvements.
• Define and improve PBF process specs, change control, and release docs.
• Develop and maintain controlled PBF process documentation and inspection plans.
• Lead cross-functional investigations into failures and nonconformances.
• Translate requirements into robust build strategies and MES/ERP workflows.
• Drive qualification and requalification strategies for parameter changes.
• Make recommendations on risk, containment, and corrective actions.
• Build scalable readiness reviews, dashboards, and knowledge repos.
• Mentor Level I/II engineers and align partner teams.
