Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices; draft penalty abatement requests and agency response letters.
• Hands-on experience preparing amended Federal (941-X, W-2c) and State payroll tax returns.
• Strong knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, and related payroll tax processes.
• Advanced Excel skills for reconciliation and audit trails.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex payroll tax notices across multiple states and quarters.
• Prepare and file amended returns (Federal and State) end-to-end.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning multiple periods and jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity while resolving corrections and amendments.
• Coach and train junior staff on resolution processes and SOPs.
