About The Role

About The Role

Calling all tax experts! We're seeking a Sr. Tax Accountant to join our team. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring our payroll tax filings are accurate, timely, and compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Are you ready to take on this challenging and rewarding opportunity?

• Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax compliance: Prepare and file all required tax returns and reports.
• Manage payroll tax filings: Handle quarterly and annual returns (Forms 941, 940, W-2, SUI, etc.).
• Complete additional tasks: Perform other duties as assigned.
• Improve processes: Identify opportunities to enhance payroll tax efficiency and accuracy.
• Stay informed: Monitor tax law developments and assess their impact on the company.
• Handle daily tax closeouts: Perform as needed.
• Assist with CPEO forms: Provide support for client forms and questions.
• Update tax information: Obtain SUTA rates, update MasterTax, and inform the Pricing Department.
• Maintain tax accounts: Open and manage accounts with State and Local agencies.
• Resolve tax issues: Investigate and address complex discrepancies and issues.
• Support tax audits: Assist in preparation and response to internal and external audits.
• Prepare and transmit tax deposits: Send payments to State Unemployment (SUTA), State and Local withholding agencies.
  
  

As a Senior Tax Accountant, you're a dedicated professional with:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll tax accounting, with a strong understanding of multi-state payroll tax regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Prior experience with filing taxes using MasterTax is desirable
• PEO experience preferred
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations
• Proficiency in payroll systems and tax software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to handle sensitive client situations gracefully
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality with the ability to handle sensitive material concerning the organization and its clients
