Job summary

Harvard University is seeking an Associate Director of Payroll Operations and Shared Services to lead central payroll processing and ensure policy-compliant payroll delivery across schools. You will set standards, controls, training, and performance metrics for payroll service delivery in a growing shared-services environment.

The role collaborates with HR, HUIT, Labor Relations, OGC, and Internal Audit to resolve complex issues, improve controls, and support a smooth transition to a workforce

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in payroll operations or shared services, with 5+ years leading teams in a complex org.
• Experience guiding payroll compliance and multi-unit or decentralized environments.
• Strong supervisory experience and change-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and subject-matter expertise to payroll and shared services stakeholders.
• Establish payroll procedures, controls, and compliance monitoring.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT leaders to resolve payroll issues and enhance service delivery.
• Support design and deployment of Workforce Services Hub and payroll operating model.
