Job summary

Deel is seeking a Senior Payroll Expert to lead multi-country payroll operations across our global entities. You will combine deep technical payroll expertise with strategic thinking to optimize delivery and mentor teammates while maintaining hands-on involvement in critical payroll processes.

You will drive complex implementations, stay current with local regulatory changes, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate, timely payments for workers in diverse jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field; 8+ years payroll experience across entities and countries.
• Strong knowledge of local payroll regulations and HR policies.
• Experience with PrismHR is a must; exposure to PEO payroll operations.

Responsibilities

Summary

The Senior Payroll Expert is a highly experienced professional who serves as the primary authority on multi-country payroll operations. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to optimize payroll processes across multiple jurisdictions. The Senior Payroll Expert leads complex implementations, drives innovation in payroll delivery, and mentors other team members while maintaining hands‑on involvement in critical payroll operations.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for multiple entities and countries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments
• Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll-related matters, providing guidance and support to other teams as needed
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency of payroll processing
• Monitor and analyze payroll data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
• Stay informed of relevant local regulatory and policy changes, communicating and establishing key changes across teams
• Work cross-functionally to provide expertise on local payroll and HR matters
• Respond to complex payroll and HR related questions from employees and clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution
• 8+ years of experience processing payroll for multiple entities and countries
• Strong working knowledge of local regulations and policies related to payroll and HR
• Advanced knowledge of PrismHR (Must Have)
• Experience processing payroll in the PEO industry
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to different audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with implementation of new payrolls on an industry recognized payroll solution required
• Experience in multiple country jurisdictions

• Our salary range reflects gross base salary. For commercial roles with commission eligibility, this figure represents On-Target Earnings (OTE), inclusive of base salary and target commission.
