Job summary

FTS, Inc. seeks an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee accurate and timely payroll processing, including wages, taxes, deductions, benefits, timekeeping, and records.

You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and serve as the main contact for payroll inquiries. The role requires coordinating with HR, Finance, auditors, vendors, and benefit providers, while supporting onboarding, status changes, compensation updates, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 8+ years of payroll or accounting experience.
• Experience with payroll software and Microsoft Office.
• ADP and Business Central experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll, timekeeping, and time-off systems.
• Process payroll, taxes, benefits, garnishments, deductions, direct deposits, and paychecks accurately.
• Maintain payroll records and prepare payroll reports, W-2s, and required tax filings.
• Reconcile payroll and benefits accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with payroll, tax, ERISA, ACA, and other applicable regulations.
• Handle payroll-related questions and work with HR, Finance, auditors, vendors, and benefit providers.
• Support new-hire onboarding, employee status changes, compensation updates, tuition reimbursement, and interim pay.
• Assist with 401(k), benefits, and payroll-related projects.
• Troubleshoot payroll and system issues and maintain accurate payroll processes.
• Stay current on payroll regulations and industry best practices.
