Job summary

The Better Money Company in New York, NY is seeking a Payments Engineer obsessed with building fast, reliable money movement systems. You will design, build, and scale components of our fiat money movement clearing system and integrate with banks and partners.

You should have 5+ years of experience with payment systems and distributed infrastructure, and thrive in ambiguity. We value urgency, trust, and ownership as we push to make stablecoins behave like money.

Qualifications

• Scaled a payment system from 0-1, ideally 1-10.
• Deep understanding of fiat payment rails (ACH, wires, RTP, etc.).
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and scalable architecture.

TL;DR

The next wave of stablecoin adoption is payments. We're building a stablecoin clearinghouse to make stablecoins move like money, not a trading asset. We're looking for a Payments Engineer who's obsessed with building fast, reliable, better money movement systems.

About Us:

we believe stablecoins are better money and will be the backbone of better payments. We see key structural problems hindering stablecoin adoption, and we're going to fix them -- starting with building a clearinghouse. We're a small scrappy team based in NYC, we've raised $10M from a16z Crypto and other excellent partners, and we're here to bring better money to the world.

What You'll Do:

• Design, build, and scale components of our fiat money movement clearing system.
• Build integrations with banks, stablecoin issuers, custodians, and other partners.
• Design and build core product functionality to enable better stablecoin payments products.
• The dishes.

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience building deeply with payment systems, financial infrastructure, and/or banking integrations
• You’ve scaled a payment system from 0-1 and ideally also taken it 1-10.
• Deep understanding of fiat payment rails (ACH, wires, RTP, etc.)
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems - you balance shipping quickly with building robust systems that can scale.
• You thrive in ambiguity - you view a lack of specificity as an opportunity for ownership.
