Job summary

Nexus Health Systems in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Healthcare Payer Contracting Specialist to negotiate and manage single case agreements, LOAs, and payer participation agreements, ensuring timely access to specialized care.

You will work with commercial plans, Medicaid programs, and MCOs, supporting credentialing, payer enrollment, and network development, balancing access with financial sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years of healthcare payer contracting experience.
• Experience negotiating single case agreements, LOAs, or healthcare reimbursement arrangements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate SCAs and LOAs with payers to ensure timely access to care.
• Review reimbursement methodologies such as per diem rates, case rates, fee schedules.
• Coordinate with Admissions, Revenue Cycle, Finance for payer negotiations.
• Track agreement status, effective dates, and renewal requirements.
