Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform healthcare practitioner and patient registration activities, according to program protocols and departmental procedures.
  2. Process data entry activities of pertinent information received at different points of contact during the delivery of program services.
  3. Provide answers to general inquiry calls submitted via telephone or web-based platforms on program services, disease state, or product-related questions, based on information provided as part of the program materials.
  4. Provide medical support to patients and healthcare providers, including education on specific diseases and therapies and disease management.
  5. Prepare for and attend extensive, specialized training sessions for specific therapies provided by the pharmaceutical team.
  6. Support patients via telephone calls, including maintenance and adherence support, both inbound and outbound as needed.
  7. Administer and adhere to case-management protocols, including clinical monitoring, data collection, patient follow-up, compliance, therapy disruption/discontinuation monitoring, adverse event reporting, and liaison with primary healthcare providers.
  8. Work directly with reimbursement specialists and physicians to secure funding for therapies; assist with alternative funding searches when needed.
  9. Attend patient meetings and conferences to educate patients and providers about disease/product information and case management services.
  10. Identify and report adverse events to Health Canada, Medical Information, and enter data into source and third-party systems.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information, discussing only with appropriate personnel.
  12. Liaise with physicians' offices, pharmacies, service providers, and other parties to provide coordinated service and resolve issues.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
  1. Registered Nurse (RN), RPN, or LPN with the applicable College of Nurses in their region; must be a member in good standing.
  2. 5-7 years of related experience.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office programs.
  4. Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingualism in French is preferred.
  6. Effective interpersonal and leadership skills.
  7. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  8. Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  9. Excellent problem-solving skills for resolving issues effectively and efficiently.
  10. Experience with Acrobat, CRM databases, VOIP telephony, web portals, teleconferences, web-based meetings.
  11. Strong business and financial acumen.
  12. Analytical and mathematical skills.

Base Pay Range: $53,800 - $89,700
