Role Purpose

The Senior Patient Service Representative acts as a subject matter expert on administrative tasks supporting the physician office. This role involves training new and junior team members and serving as a point of escalation for complex issues.

Responsibilities

1. Handles telephone calls from patients and staff; forwards calls requiring triage.
2. Performs receptionist duties with attention to detail and professionalism.
3. Verifies health insurance payment information and educates patients on regulations; collects payments and records data.
4. Performs data entry of service charges, including diagnostic codes and physician/clinic charges.
5. Coordinates with the Central Billing Office to ensure charges are captured and collected.
6. Serves as a subject matter expert; answers questions from staff; assists in decision-making and resolving complex issues.
7. Provides training and support to new and existing staff.
8. This is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work alertly and safely is essential.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2-5 years
