Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Mineola, NY, seeks a Part-time Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for Medical Oncology in the evenings. The role supports nurses, assists with patient care tasks, and upholds NYU Langone Health Core Values in a fast-paced oncology unit.

Position requires PCT/ CNA pathway qualifications, BLS certification, and completion of required online training within 3 months of hire. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• To qualify you must have a Patient Care Technician minimum qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of a PCT program w/ at least 6 months hospital experience.
• CNA graduate plus course in EKG & Phlebotomy and PCT certification eligible plus 6 months hospital experience.
• PCT Certification through NHA w/ at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (issued by AHA) required on entry.
• Must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.
• Senior Nursing Attendant: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a CNA program with at least 6 months relevant experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry.

• Assist nurse in data collection for Quality Improvement programs.
• Support nurse in patient/family communications and satisfaction.
• Assist in admissions, transfers and discharge procedures.

• Provide safe patient care including phlebotomy and glucose testing.
