Job summary

Hogan Lovells Cadwalader is seeking an IP Specialist to support the Americas Intellectual Property team in all aspects of patent prosecution, with emphasis on tracking deadlines and coordinating work across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of patent prosecution support experience.
  • Experience with prosecution of technology and energy portfolios preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Daily tracking and clearance of patent prosecution docket for foreign and domestic matters, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and file documents for US and PCT applications and related filings.
  • Prepare declarations, powers of attorney, and assignments for execution by applicants/inventors.
  • Coordinate filing of sequence listings and drawings with outside vendors.
  • Confirm status of patent and trademark cases with USPTO.
  • Review face and claims of Letters Patent for accuracy and respond to office actions.
  • Prepare Information Disclosure Statements and maintain prior art tracking spreadsheets.
  • Collaborate with IP team to propose improvements and follow through on action items.
