Job summary

Journey Church in Marshalltown, Iowa seeks a Senior Pastor called by God to provide biblical leadership through preaching, teaching, and pastoral care, guiding the church’s mission with humility and a shepherd’s heart.

As an elder-led congregation, the Senior Pastor will collaborate with the elders to cast and execute vision, equip staff and volunteers, align sermons with the teaching plan, and shepherd the flock toward meaningful gospel impact locally and globally.

Qualifications

• Life and ministry consistent with biblical elder qualifications.
• 8+ years of pastoral ministry experience preferred.
• Formal theological training is preferred for leadership and teaching.
• Strong preaching, teaching, and pastoral care skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate God’s Word with conviction and doctrinal integrity while applying it practically.
• Collaborate with elders to cast and execute Spirit-led vision with clarity.
• Align sermons with the overall teaching plan and church calendar.
• Equip and mentor staff and volunteers in spiritual and personal growth.
• Provide pastoral care and shepherd the Journey Church family.
