Job summary

Grace Baptist Church in Decatur, IL is seeking a Senior Pastor to lead our congregation and proclaim the Gospel with clarity and compassion. This role emphasizes biblical preaching, discipleship, and vision casting alongside the church elders.

The Pastor will shepherd the flock, provide spiritual guidance, lead outreach efforts, and oversee staff and ministries. Ordination and a degree in Christian ministry are required, along with a heart for missions and community engagement.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry and/or Bible theology.
• Ordained
• Proven leadership and communications skills

• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Preaching and Teaching: Prepare and deliver biblically sound, Christ-centered sermons.
• Shepherding and Pastoral Care: Visit and minister to the sick, grieving, and homebound; biblical counseling.
• Leadership and Administration: Work alongside Elders in setting vision and direction; supervise staff and ministries.
• Community Outreach: Lead evangelism and community engagement; represent the church in the local community.
