Senior Pastor Responsibilities

• Oversee the total ministry of the church
• Actively involved in congregational care and shepherding
• Preaching at services
• Oversee church staff
• Conduct and coordinate church ordinances
• Work with church staff to organize church services
• Report to Deacon Board
• Work with staff to organize special services (Christmas, Easter, funerals, weddings, etc.)
• Participation on/with church committees as needed

Senior Pastor Expectations

• Preach and teach from the Word of God in a manner that is both theological and applicable
• Must be able to relate to both old and young alike
• Must appropriately represent EMC in the community
• Must provide counseling as needed
• Humble, servant-leader attitude
• Willing to invest in our church families and community

Candidate Qualifications

• Must have previous pastoral experience
• MDiv or equivalent preferred although lesser ministry-related degree will be considered when coupled with appropriate pastoral experience
• Strict adherence to Ebenezer Mennonite Church Statement of Faith
