The Passive Safety Integration Engineer will be responsible for complete end-to-end integration of electrical passive safety components and participate in system-level design activities for the subsystem. You will be the point person for passive safety related matters on this platform, leading the bring-up and crash activities in vehicle builds. You will conceptualize, design, engineer, develop, and support the launch of next-generation vehicle platforms for electric vehicles.

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Embedded Systems
  • Strong electrical and embedded systems engineering fundamentals
  • 2+ years of experience with vehicle network protocols such as CAN, LIN & Automotive Ethernet
  • Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, vehicle safety, emerging safety system technologies, software/hardware tool development, restraints control module calibration, functional safety, network, and diagnostics process
  • Experience designing and developing safety-critical architectures
  • 2+ years of experience using embedded networking interface tools for automotive, aerospace, or similar fields
  • Experience in designing and launching new embedded products from concept to production

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Embedded Systems
  • Proven expertise in vehicle safety systems design and understanding of subsystem intricacies
  • Proficiency in vehicle architecture fundamentals, embedded systems design, RTOSes, and real-time networking
  • Experience designing and evaluating functional safety concepts in vehicle safety domain
  • Experience leading product development from concept to deployment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic, high-performing environment
  • A systems approach to design and development, with curiosity and drive for continuous improvement

  • Design passive safety HIL environments and validate subsystem readiness pre-vehicle launch
  • Develop vehicle passive safety features, collaborating with hardware, software, and safety teams
  • Ensure proper packaging, requirements, and interfaces for safety components
  • Develop electrical device transmittals for safety components and oversee documentation
  • Participate in crash safety, functional safety, and failure analysis (HARA, FMEAs)
  • Report development progress at program milestones
  • Support crash instrumentation design for testing
