Job summary

Jackson County Community Justice seeks a Sr. Deputy Parole/Probation Officer to supervise adults on supervision, conduct assessments, provide counseling, and develop case plans that reduce criminal behavior and enhance public safety.

Bachelor’s degree in criminology, criminal justice, sociology, or psychology and two years’ related experience; DPSST cert within 18 months; valid driver's license; background check and drug screen required. Union position with FOPPO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminology, criminal justice, sociology, or psychology AND two years of related experience.
• Must be certified by DPSST within 18 months of appointment.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check, a pre-employment drug screen, and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor adults on supervision for compliance with conditions and court orders.
• Impose sanctions or attend hearings when violations occur.
• Provide individual counseling and develop comprehensive case plans.
• Respond to emergencies and crisis calls on a 24-hour basis.
