Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in legal studies and one year of experience providing paraprofessional legal assistance to an attorney.
• Associate’s degree in legal studies and three years of experience providing paraprofessional legal assistance to an attorney.
• ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate Program with three years of experience providing paraprofessional legal assistance to an attorney.
• Paralegal certificate program (24+ credit hours) and four years of paraprofessional experience.
• State of CT approval: Paralegal certificate program from a State-approved school and four years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Interprets complex statutes and regulations governing legal records and documents.
• Reviews and drafts legal documents and pleadings; maintains case records.
• Performs legal research and analyzes statutes and cases.
• Interviews witnesses and clients; provides paralegal support for hearings.
• Assists in discovery and coordinates with courts and agencies.
