Senior Paralegal, Procurement Operations — Remote
What You'll Do
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between the legal, finance, and business teams, providing guidance and facilitating communication to streamline the procurement process.
- Procurement Operations: Independently manage the end-to-end procurement intake process, serving as the primary point of contact for internal business partners for procurement needs. Execute short-term and long-term procurement strategies with a primary focus on the company’s SaaS stack to drive cost optimization and secure favorable terms.
- Proactive Renewal Management: Proactively communicate and conduct outreach to internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure timely contract renewals and achieve favorable terms, or avoid unwanted renewals.
- Contract Negotiation: In alignment with the Head of Legal and Procurement, negotiate commercial terms with vendors to secure favorable terms and ensure cost-effectiveness. Ensure contracts meet minimum requirements prior to submission for legal review. Facilitate legal term negotiations as necessary.
- Contract Lifecycle Management: Manage the lifecycle of vendor contracts, from initial request and negotiation through post-execution database management, tracking key milestones, renewal dates, and obligations.
- Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for vendor communications, addressing inquiries and building strong working relationships.
- Operational Excellence: Create, enforce, maintain or improve standard operating procedures for the procurement process to drive consistent and efficient procurement practices across the company. Advise internal teams on procurement policies and procedures, ensuring all procurement activities adhere to legal and compliance standards.
- Strategic Initiatives: You may be assigned one-off or ongoing strategic initiatives and special projects from time to time, to support the Head of Legal and Procurement in achieving broader departmental or company goals.
- While performing the duties of this role, the associate is regularly required to stand or sit, reach, bend, and move about the facility. Facility is a normal office environment with variation of temperature and lighting.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program, or equivalent experience.
- +10 years of experience (i) as a paralegal or contracts management professional, (ii) managing procurement or strategic sourcing for a SaaS company, or equivalent experience, or (iii) a combination of the above.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of independence and minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and adaptable in response to changing priorities.
- High level of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and manage relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Familiarity with contracting principles and procurement best practices.
- Familiarity with P2P platforms and/or contract lifecycle management software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
