Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Senior Paralegal to review, draft, and negotiate routine commercial agreements and to design AI-powered solutions that streamline contract intake and review. You will partner with attorneys in the Commercial & Transactions organization and support other legal projects.

The role requires 5+ years of paralegal experience and hands-on experience with AI tools, including drafting and prompt design.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent field required.
• 5+ years of paralegal or contracts experience in a law firm, in-house legal department or corporate environment.
• Hands-on fluency using legal AI and generative AI tools in day-to-day legal work, such as AI-assisted contract review, drafting and prompt design, required.
• Experience building AI-enabled workflows, agents or automations for legal or contracting processes strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate routine commercial agreements using approved templates and playbooks.
• Manage intake and triage of routine contract requests and escalate issues to the attorney.
• Design, build, test and improve AI-powered tools and workflows for contract review and redlining.

Job Summary:

The Senior Paralegal is responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating routine commercial agreements, including non-disclosure agreements and hold harmless agreements, within established playbooks and escalation guidelines. The Senior Paralegal will serve as a first point of contact for routine contract requests and will take a leading role in designing, building and improving AI-powered solutions that make routine contract intake, triage and review faster and more consistent. The Senior Paralegal will work closely with attorneys in the Commercial & Transactions organization and support other legal projects and administrative duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review, draft and negotiate routine commercial agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, hold harmless agreements and similar standard agreements, using approved templates, playbooks and fallback positions
• Manage intake and triage of routine contract requests, identify non-standard or higher-risk terms and elevate issues to the appropriate attorney
• Design, build, test and continuously improve AI-powered tools and workflows that automate or accelerate routine contract intake, triage, first-pass review and redlining
• Maintain and improve contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks and fallback positions, including in formats that can be used effectively by legal AI tools
• Track contract request volumes and turnaround times and report on the impact of process and technology improvements
• Partner with internal business clients to explain standard positions, coordinate execution and maintain executed agreements in the appropriate contract repository
• Other legal projects and administrative matters as needed to support the Commercial & Transactions organization

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and / or Experience:

• BA/BS or Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent field required.
• 5 or more years of paralegal or contracts experience in a law firm, in-house legal department or corporate/business environment, including substantial experience reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
• Demonstrated hands‑on fluency using legal AI and generative AI tools in day‑to‑day legal work, such as AI‑assisted contract review, drafting and prompt design, required
• Experience building AI‑enabled workflows, agents or automations for legal or contracting processes strongly preferred

Professional Skills:

• Excellent communication and organizational skills, detail oriented, experience in record keeping and management, aptitude to work collaboratively and the ability to handle and efficiently manage multiple time‑sensitive projects, problem‑solve, meet aggressive deadlines and work with minimal supervision
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (including tracked changes and document comparison), Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Copilot and contract management/e‑signature systems
• Creative, builder mindset with curiosity about emerging legal technology and a track record of identifying manual or repetitive processes and improving or automating them
• Sound judgment to recognize when an issue falls outside established playbooks and requires attorney review, and to validate AI‑generated output for accuracy before relying on it
• A strong client service focus
• Sound legal drafting, editing and negotiation skills
• Ability to build strong relationships, both internally and externally, to quickly gain the confidence and respect of others by providing practical, timely and reliable assistance
