Job summary

Dart Container is seeking a Senior Process Engineer in paper materials and converting to lead qualification projects and collaborate across procurement, quality, and manufacturing to ensure ready-for-production materials.

You will spend significant time in plants and supplier facilities, applying expertise in cup stock, coated paperboard, and related fiber-based materials to improve speed, consistency, and product performance.

Qualifications

• Must have paper material experience including converting processes and packaging applications.
• Experience supporting supplier transitions, material testing, and root cause investigations.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to plants and supplier locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead material qualification projects from supplier evaluation through testing, trials, approval, and implementation.
• Collaborate with Procurement to evaluate suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
• Review material specs, coating technologies, and performance for food packaging applications.
• Provide technical support to plants for quality, performance, and production efficiency issues.
• Plan and execute production trials, analyze results, and recommend corrective actions.
• Apply expertise in paper converting processes (forming, die cutting, printing, coating, laminating, slitting).
• Maintain qualification records, specs, testing docs, and compliance requirements.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Paper/Packaging/Chemical/Materials Engineering
