Job summary

GCyber is seeking a Palo Alto Engineer to support a high-profile DISA customer in Arlington, VA. You will provide expert advice regarding management and operation of Palo Alto devices to strengthen security and performance.

Responsibilities include identifying misconfigurations, conducting bi-monthly firewall evaluations, and delivering Tier 3 escalation support. Collaboration with customer points of contact will be essential to align on goals and architecture, with strict adherence to DoD STIGs

Qualifications

Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
8+ years IT experience with BA/BS or equivalent.
5+ years hands-on Cisco and/or Palo Alto Firewall experience.
DoD 8570 IAT II certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security).
Strong knowledge of Palo Alto technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

Identify and remediate misconfigurations and security gaps; optimize firewall and load balancer rule-sets.
Bi-monthly evaluations of firewalls with actionable recommendations.
Track device performance and provide Tier 3 escalation for complex issues.
Collaborate with customer POCs and align on goals and architectural direction for Palo Alto technologies.
Follow DoD STIGs, DISA orders, and JSIG guidelines for regulatory compliance.
