TrinityRail Maintenance Services in Jonesboro, AR is seeking a Senior Painter/Blaster, Mobile Repair Traveling Team, to support railcar coatings projects across multiple sites. The role demands hands-on coating, surface prep, and mobile repair tasks with travel up to 80%.

Ideal candidates have railcar painting, lining, or blasting experience, and can work in industrial environments, indoors and outdoors. Valid driver’s license required, and safety PPE is provided.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience
• Ability to travel up to 80% and work extended schedules when necessary
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and lift materials as required
• Ability to wear PPE including respirators and fall protection

Responsabilités

• Prepare railcar surfaces for painting, coating, and lining applications.
• Apply primers and coatings according to specifications.
• Operate spray equipment to apply finishes on railcars and surfaces.
• Mix and apply coating systems per prescribed formulas.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine cleaning of painting lines and guns.
• Ensure safety rules and PPE usage are followed.

TrinityRail Maintenance Services is hiring a Senior Painter/Blaster, Mobile Repair Traveling Team, out of our Jonesboro, AR hub.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare railcar surfaces for painting, coating, and lining applications, including cleaning, masking, blasting, and other required surface preparation.
• Apply exterior and interior primers, paints, coatings, and lining systems according to applicable specifications and procedures.
• Operate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces.
• Mixes and applies alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and waterborne paint systems according to a prescribed formula.
• Adjusts nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint for solution.
• Proper use of mill gauge and monitors pressure amount.
• Cleans paint lines, paint guns, and performs other cleaning preventative maintenance to ensure that painting apparatus remains in working order.
• Regulates the temperature and air circulation in drying ovens.
• May also perform duties of Prep Worker and Blasting.
• Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required.
• Follows all safety rules and practices.
• Prepares materials, surfaces and structures for coverage with paint, laminate, rubber or other material.
• Applies coatings to specifications and completes detailed special applications as appropriate to the surface and final product requirements.
• Advanced at spray and hand-held application of exterior coatings
• Advanced at sealing/baking final exterior coatings
• Proficient at most interior coatings & applications
• Proficient at sealing/baking final interior coatings
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:

• 2-4 years’ experience
• Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures
• Ability to work in industrial environments indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift materials as required.
• Ability to wear required PPE including respirators, blasting equipment, and fall protection.
• Railcar painting, lining, coating, or blasting experience.
• Experience applying interior railcar coatings or linings.
• Ability to travel up to 80% and work extended schedules when necessary
• Valid driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
