Job summary

Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is seeking a skilled Paint Inspector in New York to inspect and test paints, primers, coatings, and related materials for compliance with specifications.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience, knowledge of ASTM testing, paint manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements for restricted chemicals including VOCs. On-site inspections and reporting are required to support quality assurance on public infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in chemistry or a related field is required.
• Minimum of five years inspecting/testing paints, primers, and coatings.
• Experience with ASTM and other laboratory test methods.
• Knowledge of paint manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of industry and military specifications.
• Knowledge of NYS and federal regulations for restricted chemicals (VOC).

Responsibilities

• Inspect paints, primers, coatings, and related materials.
• Review sampling and laboratory testing results.
• Witness manufacturing/testing at paint laboratories when required.
• Evaluate color matching and instrumental color measurements.
• Verify compliance with Authority paint specifications and color catalogs.
• Prepare inspection reports and support material acceptance decisions.
