Job description

Better is rebuilding home finance as an AI-native platform—turning a process that once took weeks into something that can happen in seconds. With over $110B in loans funded and $1.2B+ raised, we operate at real scale while rethinking how homeownership works from the ground up. The category hasn’t caught up yet. That’s the opportunity.

Why Better. Why Now.
A Better Opportunity

The Senior Paid Media Manager is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and optimization of multi-channel paid media campaigns that drive measurable business growth. This individual will direct agency and vendor partners and cross‑functional team members, within a matrixed organizational structure, across brand, product, analytics, and finance to ensure marketing investment effectiveness and alignment with business goals. The role also owns the integrity of the marketing data infrastructure, including attribution, tracking, and signal quality, that underpins paid media performance and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Paid Media Strategy & Optimization Direction: Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of integrated paid media campaigns across search, social, display, video, and affiliate channels. Serve as the primary point of contact for auditing campaign structures and directing agency partners, reviewing all optimization recommendations against business standing, pipeline health, and anticipated impact.
  • Team & Vendor Leadership: Manage and mentor a high‑performing team and/or external agency partners, setting clear performance expectations and accountability. Own third‑party vendor onboarding and contract negotiations, and monitor vendor performance against agreed targets to determine when relationships should be expanded, restructured, or discontinued.
  • Budget Oversight & CAC Management: Own the paid media budget across channels and regions; drive ongoing efficiency in effective Customer Acquisition Cost (eCAC) while balancing spend efficiency against volume and growth targets.
  • Finance Reconciliation: Own the monthly reconciliation of marketing spend, ensuring paid media investment is accurately and consistently reported to Finance and other internal stakeholders.
  • Spend & Performance Planning: Plan and project spend and performance by channel to inform budget allocation, pacing, and forecasting decisions.
  • Performance Analytics & Projections: Own all internal paid media performance reporting and forward‑looking pacing projections, partnering with sales leadership and executive stakeholders to align cross‑channel projections with organizational targets; serve as the single point of contact for performance documents, summaries, and planning materials.
  • Ad Hoc Executive Reporting: Respond to ad‑hoc requests from senior leadership, summarizing performance by channel and providing narrative context on the current biddable media landscape.
  • Marketing Data Infrastructure & Signal Integrity: Identify and close gaps in marketing data infrastructure, including lead source attribution and platform parameters, partnering with Product & Data teams on MarTech investment. Own the standardization of URL naming conventions and UTM structures, and maintain ongoing oversight of data signal quality across ad platforms and internal reporting systems.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with creative, product, lifecycle, and data teams to align messaging, funnel performance, and data infrastructure needs across paid touchpoints; collaborate closely with the affiliate lead to track overall marketing performance across channels.
  • Creative Ownership for Paid: Own the creative strategy for paid media, ensuring a sufficient pipeline of creative assets, formats, and a structured testing roadmap, and partner with creative and agency stakeholders to brief and execute against that roadmap.
  • Innovation & Testing: Drive a culture of continuous experimentation; test new platforms, formats, and partners to expand reach and performance.
  • Biddable Media Expertise: Bring deep fluency in auction dynamics, signal quality, bidding strategies, and algorithmic optimization to translate business objectives into executable media strategies and realistic performance expectations.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in performance marketing, with deep expertise in paid media strategy, execution, and optimization with at least 5 years directly managing Google Search, YouTube, and Meta campaigns.
  • Proficiency with Google Ads Manager, Meta Ads Manager, and relevant analytics and tracking tools.
  • Experience managing large budgets (>$1mm/month) and scaling campaigns across the full marketing funnel.
  • Experience managing direct reports and/or agency relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of using data to drive media decisions.
  • Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of attribution modeling, incrementality testing, and media mix modeling a plus.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with applying AI tools to develop workflows and capabilities that improve efficiency and effectiveness across the department.
