Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Sunnyvale, CA, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Packet Forwarding Software. This hybrid role requires working from an HPE office on average 2 days per week.

You will architect and implement Packet Forwarding features across IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, SRv6, Multicast, GRE, LAG, and tunneling. The ideal candidate holds a BS in CS/EE with 8+ years of experience (MS a plus) and has strong C/C++ skills, Linux and Python, plus solid CS fundamentals.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/EE with 8+ years experience; MS a plus.
• 6+ years of C programming experience.
• 2+ years of C++ programming experience.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, OS; Linux and Python experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop Packet Forwarding features for PTX Series Routers (IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, SRv6, Multicast, GRE, LAG, tunneling).
• Collaborate with Product Line Managers to translate features into implementation.
• Coordinate with Test Teams to qualify and deliver high-quality products; engage with customers.
