Job summary

NSI is seeking a hands-on Packaging Manager in Illinois to own the packaging function from development through commercialization and ongoing supply. You will partner with Product Development, Quality, Procurement, and Operations to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in packaging development, packaging management, or a related role in food/CPG.
• Strong knowledge of flexible film packaging and stand-up pouches.
• Experience with cost analysis, data handling, and supplier negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end packaging development process from concept to commercialization.
• Develop and maintain packaging specifications, samples, testing requirements and documentation.
• Support packaging development across flexible packaging (~60%), corrugate/boxes (~30%), and rigid packaging (~10%).
• Lead supplier relationships, pricing, terms, and backup supplier development.
• Identify and resolve packaging issues before product launches or supply disruption.
