Schwan's Company is seeking a Senior Director, Packaging Engineering to lead strategy, development, and performance of packaging materials across the U.S. food portfolio. You will build capabilities to protect product quality, enable innovation, and improve sustainability while partnering across the organization to move ideas to market.

Travel: 30%. You will drive standards, testing, and governance, collaborate with R&D, Operations, Procurement, Quality, Marketing, and external suppliers, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Materials Science, or Engineering.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in packaging development with leadership.
• Experience leading packaging innovation and cross-functional initiatives in food.
• Frozen food packaging experience preferred across manufacturing and distribution.
• Expertise in flexible films, paperboard, corrugate, and packaging testing.
• Knowledge of food-contact regulations and sustainability principles.

Responsabilités

• Lead enterprise packaging materials strategy and drive innovation across the portfolio.
• Oversee selection, development, testing, and commercialization of packaging materials.
• Set standards, specs, testing methods, and governance for consistent performance.
• Partner with R&D, Operations, Procurement, Quality, Marketing, and suppliers.
• Drive packaging optimization to reduce cost while maintaining protection.
• Champion sustainability including recyclability and regulatory alignment.
• Build and mentor a high-performing packaging team.
