Job summary

Klein Tools is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to drive packaging initiatives across new product development and sustainability programs. You will lead packaging projects, develop technical specifications, and collaborate with engineering, product management, and procurement to optimize packaging solutions for cost, quality, and performance.

The role requires a packaging engineering degree, 5+ years’ experience, strong CAD and optimization software skills, and the ability to communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering and five (5) years of related experience are required.
• Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and material properties is required.
• Experience with palletization optimization software (TOPS/CAPE) and CAD (ArtiosCAD/SolidWorks) is a plus.
• Must have strong technical, analytical, planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver detailed presentations on packaging projects to cross-functional leadership, ensuring data accuracy.
• Lead packaging projects from initiation to completion and conduct post-project evaluations.
• Design, prototype, and validate packaging components for new product development.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, operations, and procurement to optimize packaging solutions.
• Support setup of promotional packaging and point-of-purchase displays with marketing requirements.
• Partner with suppliers to maintain packaging specifications.
• Identify and implement cost-saving packaging initiatives to improve performance and sustainability.
