Job summary

Haas Automation seeks a Senior Packaging Engineer in Oxnard, CA to design and implement packaging solutions for large machinery for national and international shipping.

The ideal candidate will lead packaging designs from concept through production, ensure adherence to design protocols, communicate design rationales clearly, and manage projects with a 10% domestic travel expectation. 40 hours per week, $122,595.97 per year.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Packaging Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field plus 3 years of related experience.
• Experience with packaging design for national and international shipping and full design process from concept to production.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and regulations in English; capable of creating instructional materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide innovative packaging solutions for large machinery/components for national and international customers.
• Develop and design packaging solutions for Haas machines and accessories for shipping.
• Ensure proper design protocols and procedures are followed.
• Communicate rationale behind design decisions clearly to stakeholders.
• Stay updated on new packaging trends, materials, and technology.
• Create, administer, and implement Engineering Change Requests.
• Maintain project schedules and meet deadlines.
• Take ownership of assigned projects and mentor junior staff if needed.
