Job summary
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Elkridge, MD is seeking a Packaging Engineer to support the Shipping Department, review contracts, and provide packaging guidance for military shipments. This on-site role works with engineering, contracts, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with military standards.
You will determine packaging practices, develop training, and review labeling to meet MIL-STD-2073 and DoD requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years experience in manufacturing/shipping or Associate with 4+ years in manufacturing/shipping.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, drawings, and contracts.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
Responsibilities
- Determine packaging practices and materials based on shipment requirements.
- Review contracts, purchase orders, and sales orders and revise packaging information as needed.
- Write, review, and revise packaging instructions used by the shipping department.
- Audit packaging practices of the shipping team.
- Ensure packaging methods meet military standards and MIL-STD-2073.
