Job summary

Aduro Home in Metuchen, NJ is seeking an experienced Retail Packaging Designer to lead packaging for multiple home product categories. This on-site role focuses on creating production-ready artwork and dielines that meet retailer standards.

You will collaborate with Product Development, Sales, Merchandising, and overseas factories, review proofs, and ensure color, typography, and print specs are flawless across multiple SKUs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of retail packaging design experience, home products preferred.
• Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Strong understanding of print production, dielines, and prepress.
• Experience working with overseas manufacturers.
• Excellent typography, layout, and branding skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot production issues before printing.
• Experience managing multiple SKUs in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize projects and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design innovative retail packaging for multiple home product categories.
• Create packaging for boxes, PDQs, inserts, belly bands, hang tags, labels, and display packaging.
• Build and modify dielines for manufacturability.
• Prepare production-ready artwork using Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Collaborate closely with Product Development, Sales, Merchandising, and overseas factories.
• Review factory artwork, proofs, PP samples, and TOP samples for accuracy before production.
• Ensure all packaging meets retailer requirements and brand standards.
• Maintain color accuracy, typography, print specifications, and production files.
• Develop packaging systems across multiple brands while maintaining consistency.
• Help create mood boards, trend presentations, seasonal color stories, and packaging concepts.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines.
• Work directly with overseas vendors to resolve artwork and production issues.

Preferred Experience

• Experience designing products sold through retailers such as TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Walmart, Target, Five Below, Costco, or similar national retailers.
• Knowledge of packaging materials, finishes, embossing, foil, varnishes, and specialty printing.
• Experience with home organization, kitchen, hydration, storage, or home décor products.
• Trend forecasting and seasonal color development experience is a plus.
