Centessa Pharmaceuticals, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, is seeking a Senior Advisor, Manufacturing Package Design to lead the design, development, and technical strategy for primary and secondary packaging supporting late-stage clinical and commercial manufacturing.

The role partners with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain, manages CMO/CPO relationships, drives technology transfer, ensures cGMP compliance, and guides packaging documentation and

Qualifications

• 8–10 years’ sponsor-side packaging design experience.
• Experience leading packaging for late-stage clinical and/or commercial programs.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations and packaging standards.
• Experience managing relationships with CMOs/CPOs and suppliers.
• Experience authoring or reviewing CMC packaging sections preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and technical strategy for primary/secondary packaging for late-stage programs.
• Represent packaging design on project teams with CMOs/CPOs and manage relationships.
• Ensure clinical packaging and labeling align with forecasts and demand.
• Direct packaging engineering activities including verification/validation and stability studies.
• Lead technology transfer to commercial manufacturing, incl. line trials and scale-up.
• Maintain design history files, packaging specs, and risk assessments per cGMP.
• Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs on packaging sections of submissions.
• Support launch readiness and supply continuity with cross-functional teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in packaging processes and supplier performance.
• Manage change controls, deviations, and CAPAs related to packaging.
• Evaluate packaging materials and equipment with CMOs/CPOs; qualify new suppliers/lines.
• Provide SME support during regulatory inspections and audits.
• Build and mentor a team supporting manufacturing package design.
• Travel 10–20% (domestic/international).
