Job summary

Lilly is seeking an Associate Director, Manufacturing Package Design to lead packaging design for late-stage clinical and commercial drug product manufacturing, reporting to the VP, CMC. You will partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain, and manage relationships with CMOs/CPOs to drive design, transfer, and readiness.

The role requires 7+ years in sponsor-side packaging design, strong knowledge of cGMP, and the ability to guide regulatory

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in sponsor-side packaging design for late-stage clinical and/or commercial programs.
• Strong knowledge of cGMPs and packaging standards for solid dosage and related systems.
• Experience leading design strategy, tech transfer, and regulatory interactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and strategy for primary/secondary packaging for late-stage clinical and commercial programs.
• Represent packaging design on cross-functional project teams with CMOs/CPOs; manage relationships and site visits.
• Ensure packaging aligns with clinical supply, forecasts, and product demand; drive tech transfer to commercial manufacturing.
• Author/review CMC packaging sections with Regulatory Affairs; support inspections and audits.
