Job summary

Merck seeks a Senior Packaging Component Engineer to lead life‑cycle management, quality investigations, and line projects at the Wilson site. You will collaborate with external suppliers, global support functions, and packaging commercialization teams to introduce new products and drive improvements.

The role reports to the Associate Director of Packaging (Component Engineering) and requires 5+ years in packaging operations or process design within GMP settings.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in engineering with 4–5 years packaging/operational design experience.
• GMP environment experience; project management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical writing and document review experience (deviations, change requests, SOPs).

Responsibilities

• Author and revise component specifications with cross-functional teams.
• Work with vendors to develop/test components for qualifications and launches.
• Lead design transfers and coordinate with Packaging Ops for changes.
• Act as Change Owner/Project Manager for component changes and SME for site changes.
• Initiate workflows in GLAMS for printed component drawings used globally.
• Troubleshoot line issues and manage supplier investigations in IMS.
