Job summary

CBIZ is seeking an experienced accounting professional in Minneapolis to manage client engagements, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations and general ledger integrity. The role includes 1099 preparation, QuickBooks proficiency, and cross-team training within the client accounting and advisory group.

The position requires 5 years in public accounting, 3 years supervisory experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5 years of experience in public accounting or related field.
• 3 years supervisory experience.
• Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining and maintaining a thorough understanding of financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger structure.
• Managing a client base for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting services and special projects and ensuring timely reporting.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with internal staff and clients.
• Occasionally working remotely with clients at their off-site locations to facilitate their financial reporting needs.
• Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks with the time requested.
• Providing various training and support for other team members of the client accounting and advisory group and other firm departments.
• Preparation and/or review annual 1099 forms.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and multiple QuickBooks editions, further achieving ProAdvisor status within 1 year of hire date.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and processing of payroll via third-party payroll providers.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Reviewing staff level projects primarily for internal use financial statements.
• In office at least 3 days per week.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
