Job summary

Genesis Industrial Ventures LLC in San Diego-based operations seeks an experienced Outside Machinist Journeyman III to perform removal, installation and testing of shipboard equipment. Responsibilities include using hand and power tools, reading specs, and testing components such as pumps, bearings and hull hardware.

Requires 5+ years on large yachts/ships, tool proficiency, and basic English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience on larger yachts/ships 80 ft and up.
• Extensive tool selection experience.
• Experience with marine shaft seals/bearings/rudders.
• Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.
• Machining skills are a plus.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to read and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Able to work independently.
• Basic math skills and basic English comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Remove and install shipboard equipment.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.
• Read and interpret job specifications and drawings.
• Read precision instruments to verify tolerances.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE as required.
• Work in various stages of repair and assist others as needed.
• Test and verify functionality of equipment after service.
