Job summary

Cathleen Stone Island Outward Bound School in Boston launches and sustains high‑quality experiential programs for students. The Program Manager leads logistics, safety, staff training, and client relationships to deliver discovery and expedition experiences aligned with our mission.

As a senior member of the team, you will coach up to 30 facilitators and course directors, manage schedules and budgets, and partner with schools to promote equitable access to outdoor education.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of commensurate experience.
• Knowledge and field experience with urban school-based programs and/or Outward Bound.
• At least two years of experience supervising employees.
• At least three years of program management experience.
• Passion for social justice, environmental stewardship, and outdoor education.
• Spanish fluency is a plus; familiarity with MS Office and CRM systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program management for a portfolio of school and expedition partners.
• Develop and communicate program operations, schedules, and budgets.
• Ensure safety and high quality outcomes through data and surveys.
• Coach and develop course directors and instructors.
• Manage enrollment paperwork and partner relations.
• Collaborate across admin, kitchen, and operational teams.
